This is a copy of a photo taken from the Bangor Advance.  It is supposedly a picture of a whistle stop campaign made by William Jennings Bryan in Bangor in 1896.  It is hard to verify without looking at the actual photo, although Bryan did make a stop in town that year.  The original was owned by Katherine Murphy and is one of two taken at the time.  These photos have also disappeared.  Family members know nothing of their whereabouts and we need help locating them.  William Jennings Bryan also came through Bangor in the early 1900's on his way to South Haven to give a speech.  Catch our book to find out which U.S. President made a whistle stop in town about the same time.
